Logos are powerful symbols or icons representing a company or organization. A logo is created with the purpose of business marketing. It signifies a professional, reliable and stable business and thus provides a positive vibe to the viewer. Logos are found in advertising materials, company letterhead, and communication emails. Many a times, logos remind us the name of a company. When we see a unique logo with an attractive design on newspapers or promotional products, we remember that and contact the company, if it fulfils our requirements. Thus an attention-grabbing logo is essential for a growing company and its business.
A viewer recognizes a company by its logo. A logo needs to be trademarked since it is used on everything that is the product of a particular company or business. Usually we see four different types of logos- textual, symbolic, illustrated and combination of any of these three types. Colors, typography and graphic elements matter a lot in the creation of logos in order to convey the right information about the company in the right way.
Logos are important for companies since:
- Logos create brand identity: A logo is the chief, identifiable visual element that helps in the creation of a brand identity. We see a company’s logo on its different products. If the mark or symbol is well-designed, people will perceive the brand in a positive light. A logo with amateur designs and clumsy graphical elements won’t steer prospective clients.
- Logos lead to a brand’s success: A logo cannot lead your company to the top; yet it is one of the factors to be considered. It creates a corporate image of the company and conveys to the people what the company stands for and how its products and services reflect the value of its business. For example, the Disney logo evokes elements of fun and frolic in the viewer. The famous Macdonald ‘M’ makes you feel alive, fresh. The color yellow is associated with the joy of sunshine. So you feel happy. A brand becomes successful when it touches the lives of people besides earning revenues. And a logo perfectly does its partial job in making a brand successful.
- Logos provide good return on investment: If consumers like your logo, they will definitely add to the sales. Once the brand starts becoming popular, potential clients will be inclined to this brand compared to others without any logos or with substandard logos.
Creation of an awesome logo is the first step to a brand’s success. You need not spend millions for creating a logo that conveys your thoughts to customers. But it’s worth spending great time and effort. After all it’s your business and you want it to touch the sky.
